You’ve been in your body for a long time and you may have noticed some changes: pain that came on all of a sudden, joints that don’t move as far as they used to, or an injury that never seems to totally heal. You have heard your family and friends find relief in a variety of modalities, but you want to make the most effective choice AND be able to understand why it works.
When something doesn’t function properly, we often seek Western medicine that views the anatomical body as a machine and repair the pieces of that machine: bones to give us structure, muscles to move that structure, and organs to make the machine come alive.
We have gathered three local practitioners and Burnsville Chamber of Commerce members who want to share how the human body works and how their care can help you move and function with better ease.
Dr. Haley Balego of Peak Performance Chiropractic Center will help us understand when to seek a chiropractor for care, what will make your adjustment last longer, and chiropractic misconceptions. She’ll show you what restricted mobility in joints looks like as well as do a live demonstration of an adjustment.
Melanie Franke of Vital Energy Physical Therapy will explain how fascia, the connective tissue throughout our entire body, plays a crucial role in how bodies move and function. She’ll illustrate what stuck fasica feels like, how it got to be that way, what we can do to attend to our fascia, and the investigator role she plays to restore more complex issues.
Margaret Selva of Forest Floor Wellness will take you through why sauna has been such a fundamental part of healthy cultures and the physical benefits that lie within the heat and cold. You’ll feel what it’s like to be in the sauna with additional tools such as steam and whisks.
This is for general education purposes. If you are interested in personalized diagnosis or treatment, we suggest that you make an appointment with our practitioners.
