Core Focus Area: Business Education Network

The Burnsville Business Education Network (BEN) was developed in December 2017 to connect employers with education to help students become future ready and community strong. All BEN programs are geared towards developing core skills and supporting District 191’s Profile of a Learner. 

This partnership will build a stronger talent pipeline for the employers and ensure that students from all backgrounds are exposed to a variety of career paths and that they have access to skills, degree and certificate programs that prepare them for success in the workplace.

Online Student Job Fair
Spring
For local businesses to recruit students for summer, part-time or full-time jobs. Students can search jobs by career fields, hiring requirements, etc.

Workplace Skills Certificate Program
Spring
For High School Students based on a curriculum called: “Bring your A Game to Work”.

Teacher Externship
Summer
For teachers/administrators to experience the real-world workforce inside our local businesses to integrate into the schools’ strategic plans to improve student outcomes 

State of the District/Business Education Partnership Celebration
Summer
To celebrate current business partners, inform businesses about relevant district programs and connect with new business partners.

Paid Internship Program
Fall
For Burnsville High School Students, funded through Future Ready Grant to the Burnsville Chamber through the Greater Twin Cities United Way and the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce.

Business Speaker Data Base
