October is National Manufacturing Month and the Burnsville Chamber, in partnership with the City of Burnsville and Veloci Performance Products will host a day of events to recognize the manufacturing businesses within the city. The day will highlight the impact that manufacturing businesses located in Burnsville have on the local and state economies, as well as the jobs they provide within the manufacturing sector.
Schedule of Events:
- 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.: Manufacturing facility tours, purchase lunch from Brick Oven Bus, network with Chamber Members
- 12:00 p.m.: Proclamation by Burnsville Mayor Elizabeth Kautz and video presentation of Burnsville manufacturing businesses.
- 12:30 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.: Manufacturing facility tours including a live demonstration of CNC machines built by Plymouth-based manufacturing tool company Productivity Inc, manufacturing products.
In addition to
Veloci, a manufacturer and distributor of power washing parts and accessories, participating Burnsville-based manufacturing businesses that will participate in the day include
Rigid Hitch, a manufacturer and warehouse distributor of trailer hitches, towing accessories, trailer parts, and truck accessories;
Ventaire, manufacturer of source capture ventilation systems and components for extracting noxious fumes and gases in commercial and industrial applications; and
Sno Biz, a producer of flavors and syrups for shave ice and other frozen treats.
The City of Burnsville recognizes that manufacturing is a dynamic and robust industry, crucial to the health and strength of Minnesota’s diverse economy. Manufacturing jobs in Burnsville account for approximately 25.8 percent of Dakota County’s total manufacturing employment. In 2022, manufacturing provided Burnsville with 4,997 jobs, which makes it Burnsville’s third-largest employer within the industry sector.
