Topic: New Trends in Healthcare Insurance Plans from ICHRA to Level-Funded
Speaker: Sandra Schlaefer
Facilitator: Sandra Schlaefer, King & Companies
Description: New MN Health Insurance options and trends are occurring in the Minnesota Employer Health Insurance marketspace. Sandra Schlaefer, RHU, ChHC, will be discussing these new Minnesota Health Insurance Options for Employers and their Employees. According to Modern Medicine, for nearly 50 years, Minnesota barred for-profit insurers from operating as health maintenance organizations in the state. In 2019, this changed. For years, Minnesota’s fully insured employers have bounced between four insurance companies with similar insurance plan options. With this for-profit change, we are seeing the development of new plan designs and more competition. Level-funded plans have been around, but with this law change, competition is taking notice of the mainly untapped MN market. The creation of ICHRA (Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement) has also provided employers with another plan option, which came into effect on January 1, 2020. Join us on June 29 to find out more insights on these health insurance changes and trends!
